I filled out the online credit check/background check my prospective new landlady directed me to, so as long as I pass it the house is mine.

There is no reason for me to worry, but tell that to my anxious hamster wheel of a brain.

...does anyone know how long these things usually take?

My understanding is that the actual mechanism of the credit check is pretty close to instantaneous nowadays, but there may be some days lost in transit.
