Aug. 22nd, 2005 10:06 pmSorry to disappear from LJ for a week, kids. I have, actually, been busy! Ish. I've started going through all my stuff, figureing out what I want to bring with me when I move, which means that my room is seriously three times messier than usual. All my craft stuff is impeccably organized, though!
It occurs to me that I've seen very few movies this summer-- pretty much only Batman and Sky High. This fall, however, is seriously going to bankrupt me: Serenity, V, Rent, Brothers Grimm, Narnia, Corpse Bride, HP4, Mirrormask, King Kong. And that's *just* in the "movies for nerds" category, leaving out entirely The New World, Pride & Prejudice, Oliver Twist, and whatever documentaries I'll end up seeing with Nora.
Suddenly that chick who wanted people to pay her for fanfic seems *much more sensible*. Clearly she was only looking ahead to the death grip the movie industry would have on her wallet come September.
Also, everyone, say hi to
asmallbluedot! She's one of those mythical lurkers who're always supporting people in email and so on, and I've just recently lent her approximately her weight in comics. I'd feel kind of bad about it, but, well, pimpin' ain't easy.
Also also: I finally watched a whole episode of Atlantis in one go, and, gosh. I picked a good one to start with, because even the B-plot entertained me, with Ronon all drunk and Teyla all "yeah, you just... stand over there and flirt, hon. Whatever makes you happy." And I have been out of the SG1 loop for *far too long* because apparently, there was Ben Browder in leather pants? And I missed it? This week he just had a spacesuit, which was cool but but did not do nearly as many fantastic things for his ass.
One final note: Boys in wire-rim glasses are *unbearably hot*. Like, the *main* reason Brothers Grimm is on the above list? Is not the fact that Terry Gilliam's directing, or that it looks to be clever and funny, or the special effects. It is, in fact, Heath Ledger's little round spectacles. I am a *ho*, you guys.
