holli: (do your worst dr. frankenstein!)
Today was both AWESOME and very, very long. Last night I went to bed at 2 AM, because we didn't leave work until 11, ending up hanging out at my parents' house on our way home to eat their food and talk to my sister, then picking up Lauren and HER sister so tehy could come back to our house and sleep over. And then we had to watch the Veronica Mars pilot, OF COURSE, and apparently they watched more of it with Shira after that but I wouldn't know, I went to goddamn sleep at that point.

The next moring, I picked up [livejournal.com profile] larisa57 from the Metro, came back, woke up Lauren, and headed for the Sheep and Wool Festival, or, as [livejournal.com profile] paula_kelley likes to call it, the Sheep and Wolf Festival. Which has a certain ring to it, I have to admit. The festival was very fun, and I bought *much* less than I was expecting-- only some roving, no yarn, and I kept my coveting-the-spinning-wheels time to a minimum. I also ate a corn dog. And really, any day with food on sticks is successful in my book. Oh, and I got a llama finger puppet for a friend. And Lauren took a TON of pictures, which i hope to get copies of soon.

Getting home too a LONG ASS TIME, because I ended up driving basically all over the entire DC metropolitan area to drop everyone off, but eventually I made it, giving me just enough time to relax before going to see Stick It. Which was wildly entertaining, kind of hilarious, used the phrase "hetero life mate" and passed that test where the female characters have conversations with each other that aren't about boys, that I can't remember the name of, dammit.

Also, according to the posters in the theater lobby, Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson are going to be in a superhero romantic comedy, which, YES PLEASE. I mean, I've been wanting a superhero romantic comedy for a long-ass time, regardless of casting; the fact that it has two actors I am very very fond of is a bonus. Also, Pirates II looks like it was written by someone who went on the Pirates ride like 17 times while listening to an H.P. Lovecraft audio book. And I mean that in the best possible way.
