knitting blather
Mar. 16th, 2007 11:25 pmHave embarked on the Third Annual Sheep & Wool Shawl. Well, sort of. Both times I've been to the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival I've work a shawl I knitted shortly beforehand. The first year it was a Kiri shawl in plain white, and last year it was a Flower Basket Shawl made with my own handspun. I wasn't actually planning those *for* the festival, though-- I just so happened to finish them in time to wear.
This year I have some washed-out slatey blue laceweight. I cast on for another Kiri, but a few rows in I decided to experiment. So what I've got now is, I think, going to be called the Go Fly a Kite shawl, with kite-shaped diamonds traling tails behind them. We'll see how it works. And I guess we'll see if I finish in time for Sheep & Wool.
