come exploring with me!
Jun. 23rd, 2007 01:46 amI'm going to have a ton of free time in July, and I think I want to spend it exploring. I want to see all the cool stuff DC has to offer that I've never had the time for, or haven't done since I was a kid, or didn't even know existed. Plus all the festivals and movie screenings and concerts and random events that I never seem to hear about until after the fact.
Things I am definitely going to do so far (adventurousness may vary):
-The Folklife Festival
-The catacombs at the Franciscan Monastery
-Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead at the AFI Silver (probably going Monday, if anyone's interested)
-the Textile Museum
-going to the top of the Washington Monument (can you believe I've never done this?)
-berry-picking and fruit-picking at farms around here, probably Butler's or Lariland
-playing Ghost in the Graveyard in the big Jewish cemetary on Adelphi
-driving out to Ellicott City to see what's left of the old Enchanted Forest theme park
-the Portrait Gallery
-outdoor movies at Strathmore
-also, they're apparently showing The Day the Earth Stood Still outside the Capitol, July 17
-looking for sharks' teeth at Calvert Cliffs
-actually going to Fort Reno instead of realizing at 9 PM that, whoops, there was a show at Fort Reno tonight
Who else has stuff they want to do, but not alone? What places have you always thought looked neat but never been to, or *know* are neat and want to see again?
