hooray for sewing
Feb. 25th, 2011 01:03 pmAt the Habitat for Humanity store today, I found a 1950s skirt in a gorgeous floral print, all gray and mint and goldenrod. It had been hacked off at the waistband; the lady at the store thought it must have been part of a dress before it was cut up. I bought it for three dollars.
Well, an hour's work with needle and thread, and I have a totally beautiful tea-length skirt, which fits perfectly, and which I am going to wear the crap out of this summer. It even has a built-in crinoline. I am very pleased.
