For those who remember my spats corset, that costume is proceeding apace. I have a lace-edged brown tank top to wear under it, and am looking for cropped stripey pants. Some boots and a toolbelt, and I will have a fairly nice steampunk mechanic's costume. Hopefully I will find everything in time for Dragoncon.
I bought a pair of high-waisted shorts in Silver Spring the other day, the first retail clothing purchase I have made in a while. They were pricey by my standards, but I've been wanting sailor shorts for ages and they're impossible to find second-hand; these are pretty close to perfect. Outfit pictures may be forthcoming.
Not clothing related: I will be selling vintage books at Fenton Street Market in Silver Spring this Saturday, and at Eastern Market on Sunday. Localistas, come visit me!
