tiny furniture
Mar. 24th, 2013 07:12 pmSo, it is spring! And spring means it's time to do my very favorite art project: building a fairy garden. I have done this with my after-school kids the last four or five years at least, and it is always super fun. This year I will be building one with the babysitting charges, and I have an extensive Pinterest board full of ideas for stuff to make.
Additionally, I think I am going to be running a fairy garden workshop at the vintage store. The plan is to use lots of natural and vintage and recycled materials-- twigs and vines and bark, buttons and beads, juice cartons and tin cans-- to make fairy-sized furniture and houses, and send everyone home with enough stuff to build a garden of their own. April 21st (a Sunday) is the most likely date, and there will be a materials fee of around $15. Please let me know if you're interested in participating!
Since this gives me an excuse to start collecting acorn caps and interesting sticks and glass pebbles and seashells and things, and to make tiny Adirondack chairs out of popsicle sticks and hot glue, and to cut scrap fabric into itty-bitty buntings and blankets, I am extremely pleased. Spring is the best.
