One of my neighbors knocked on my door earlier tonight, asking if we'd lost any kittens. He and his wife had just found three itty-bitty kittens-- they look three or four weeks old-- alone in their back yard, and took them in since there was no mama cat around.

Oh my god you guy they are SO CUTE. SO CUTE. Just, tiiiiiny, and they're all stumbly and ungainly, and they have little tiny (sharp!) teeth and claws, and they keep trying to nurse people's elbows and fingers and things. I played with them for a while, and oh my god I want to take them hoooooome.

But I'm working at Glen Echo in the mornings three days a week this month, and at my regular job in the afternoons, and they need hand-feeding more times a day than I'm around for. I ran out to the pet store and got a can of kitten formula for my neighbors, which will tide them over for a few days, but after that they need homes.

On the bright side, I am moving to a new place this month where I can have a cat. In fact, I'm bringing my first carload of stuff over there tomorrow. But I don't think I can take all three (although I waaaaant to) and I can't take over hand-feeding them.

Localistas, does anyone know anyone who fosters kittens? Does anyone know anyone who wants a kitten? One is black with white paws and chin, one is black-and-white all over, and one is gray-and-black striped on top and white on her belly (and six-toed omg SO CUTE. I have dibs on this one, guys).

My neighbors don't want to just drop them off at the animal shelter, becuase they don't know where they'll end up, but they're elderly and already have a cat of their own. If I were working hours that allow it, I would take over caring for these little guys in a heartbeat, but I can't. Any thoughts, hivemind?
