Feb. 26th, 2009 09:47 pmI am the queen of Internet window shopping, aren't I? It's how I compensate for not actually buying clothes from anywhere but the thrift store and the Rugged Wearhouse.
That said, Brooklyn Industries is highly intriguing; in particular I love this dress in red.
TopRunway, the eBay seller that does custom repro vintage, is still giving me fluttery feelings in and about the heart. This dress is just *unfair*, you guys: the plaid collar and cuffs! The many, many covered buttons! I really want to see what this looks like made up; I suspect that little stand-up collar would be amazing.
Forever 21 is crappy and disposable and the buttons fall off the second time you wear it (I am actually being literal here: I have a shirt from there I've washed three or four times and two of the five buttons are gone), but sometimes they hit the bulls-eye on the Things I Want dartboard. ...of course, now that I've had a rummage through the web site, all that really grabs me is this cardigan and this skirt, but I swear they're worth checking in on periodically. Anyway, this vest is clearly waiting for a steampunk costume involving a jet pack.
I am sternly avoiding the Anthropologie website, because I know what's best for me. Sigh.
Also, I just looked at the favorites on my Etsy seller's account, and, uh, my highly specific dress preferences are showing a bit. So, in conclusion: warmer weather, get here faster, so I can stop wearing jeans and the same three sweaters, and bust out the pretty dresses already!
