So I have not updated in a bit, have I? Whoops. In my defense, busyness continues to happen.

I went to Richmond this weekend with Mr. Flowersocks, as he wanted to be out of Baltimore for St. Patrick's and we both wanted a bit of a vacation. So I found a cute little B&B on the edge of Carytown, and we drove down Saturday afternoon and walked around the shops and went into the prettiest vintage store I have ever seen in my entire life. It was also the most expensive vintage store I have ever seen in my entire life, but perhaps that is why it's so pretty. If you're ever in Richmond, guys, go to Bygones. You probably won't buy anything, but your eyeballs will thank you.

Saturday night we met up with [livejournal.com profile] paula_kelley's old roommate Cassie from when she lived in Richmond, and her boyfriend Daniel, for dinner at a Cuban place and dancing at a nearby bar. Both were very fun, and we walked all over the Museum District and the Fan, which are neighborhoods in Richmond that are filled to bursting with incredibly pretty Victorian row houses and three-story apartment buildings with wide balconies on each floor. This alone makes it worth a trip to Richmond: it is so, so pretty to walk around in.

In the morning Cassie and Daniel came with us to Colonial Williamsburg, where we spent the day watching people make shoes and yarn and books and things, and asked lots of questions. All told, good times.

Then I came home and watched the first episode of Legend of Korra. To which, without spoiling, I can say: OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING. Also, can anyone help me find a way to describe AtLA and Korra without making it sound like Legend of Zelda? Because apparently the way I'm doing it is making AtLA sound derivative, and Mr. Flowersocks is skeptical.

In vintage shop news, yesterday I bought a trunk-full of 1950s baby and toddler clothes from a guy on Craigslist. SO WORTH IT. Now I have a ton of incredibly precious and delicate little dresses, and sturdy little t-shirts and button-down shirts (one has airplanes embroidered on the collar!) and little overalls, and tiny shoes still in their boxes with the original receipt. And there is a LOT of stuff. And the trunk alone is probably worth thirty or forty bucks. AND there was a 1930s pink lace women's dress, not in great shape but still really cool, tucked away in the bottom of the trunk. I am so glad I put that ad on Craigslist. Here's a picture of the clothes, if you're curious:

eta: I just counted, and there are A HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN saleable items in that trunk. I thought it would be like 70! THIS IS AWESOME.
