I suspect I am officially Not Allowed to buy any more vintage art.



On the bright side, I got a bunch of vintage children's books to restock my bookshelf at the shop. Does anyone want a first edition of Emily of New Moon?



Sadly, I have not been finding much in the way of clothes. This time of year, they're always a little thin on the ground, but it's still annoying.

I rather like the execution of that portrait. But yes, maybe you need to stop buying art until you actually sell a few pieces of it.

I guess it's always feast or famine with vintage clothes?

Isn't it? The 20s is my favorite decade for book illustrations.

Seems to be-- this spring I had a bunch of awesome estates to clear out, but nothing's turned up since then.

Re: vintage art. My roommate is moving out in October and taking all the art in the living and dining rooms with her (with the exception of my Japanese cattails). Therefore--if you find anything Asian/Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts-y, or even arts and craftsy, I would probably be delighted to buy it off of you. You could even text me pictures if you're not sure on things. I would of course be delighted to ply you with cash and whatever other system we can work out!

Ooh, I would love to scout art for you! I will cheerfully text you pictures of anything neat that I manage to find.

Also, if I make it to Dragoncon, there is a vendor who always has large, lovely, reasonably priced Mucha prints-- I picked up a 2'x3' version of this for $15 one year.

I've never been to Dragoncon (I like fan/slashcons but am not super interested in the larger kind of con), but omg reasonably-priced Mucha! If you go and wouldn't mind transporting or shipping prints for me, do let me know. I had tons of his prints in my apartment when I was in college and got a bit tired of them, but some of them I'd still like to have (especially the one on the left here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-eZF90NOJ1G8/TZxMGVBmfjI/AAAAAAAAECE/veKvyhXFvcc/s1600/mucha+moon+stars.jpg).
