Job-hunting is HARD. < /Andrew>

Seriously. There are SO FEW of the kinds of summer jobs I actually want. So far I have one interview at the end of the month, for an internship with a Jewish politics and culture magazine. It's pretty ideal for me-- some writing, lots of editing, will looks good on a resume and provide great experience. But it's the only thing I've seen that's really what I want, and, well, it's a small basket for all the eggs I've got here.

Argh. Watch me end up working at the snack bar at the pool.

Are you stuck with the area you're in? Or can you hunt out-of-town, the way SA did?

Because there are some internships in SF, just opened up.

Poor Adam. If it helps, the best Job I've seen so far is for a Jewish lifestyle magazine. Which means-- if I even get the job-- I'm gonna end up editing endless unsolicited submissions, mostly consisting of recipes for kugel and wacky stories about people discovering their heritage.

But I'm probably gonna end up at the snack bar.

That sounds familiar. Except for the kugel. What is that? Some sort of anti-inflammatory?

i used to type in letters to the editor, (I liked it because I didn't have to talk to people or think or anything) and some of them were crazy and some of them were stupid. I remember getting pissed off at this one woman who wrote in to say that she didn't think the film American Beauty deserved the attention and critical acclaim it got (this was some time after its video/dvd release, I think), because it depicted drug use.

That said, it sounds like a pretty nice job, considering. Beats a snack bar, at least, and I hope you get it.

And if you don't, do you got any of those Snickers ice cream bars? Them's pretty tasty.

Well, my own internship with a publishing company appears to have fallen through, and so as a result I've got an interview with a marketing company on Tuesday. It isn't exactly what I wanted, but I've had to swallow my pride, as they say... ^^; In all honesty, I was looking at work in the "cash department of a federal agency," which apparently was likely 10-hour shifts of counting stacks of bills and sorting them into the right bags. At this point, it's take what I can get, essentially...

Although if you haven't checked them yet, local temp agencies and employment agencies might have positions (even internal ones) available...

Also... Been kinda missing you. Hope we can get together at some point this summer, since 4 months is pretty long. ^^;
