Part of being on Livejournal.com is inevitably gaining a number of LJ buddies. Unfortunately, as time wears on, it's easy to forget where all of them came from. Post this in your journal and have your friends respond with how they recall first 'meeting' you.

Looking at my flist, there are quite a few people I can't remember first meeting. You may know who you are, or perhaps you have forgotten, too.

I remember meeting you at 6th grade orientation, and I remember that we had math together.
I think.

Of course I remember first meeting holli. Paris. The war. The Ratzi bastards were streaming in on all sides. Everywhere, the sounds of explosions. A single tear rolled down my cheek as she boarded the last boat escaping to England. I had to stay--I had a duty to perform for my country--but the memory of that day has always haunted me. It wasn't until decades later that I discovered she'd escaped to the safety of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer message board.

But we'll always have Paris.

you tried to recruit me for bbg. i didn't bite.

then one time we went to see harry potter and we talked about comics and being dorks and it was awesome.

Buffistas! Table Talk, even. You're one of the few people who's been around almost as long as I have. And you were how old when you started posting, and now you're in college and everything.

It was a time of great darkness in the lands...all was turmoil. The dwarven races had all but disappeared, burrowing deep within the earth in fear, jealously guarding their ancient treasures.

It was seven months ago.

You were the other new recruit to Rude Mechs. We gathered for the first time that semester, and I immediately felt connected to you because of that shared newness. I tried to tell you, but you only mumbled something and went on eating what I can only describe as a large, raw fish.

Eventually, spitting out some of the smaller bones you had been gnawing on after messily devouring the unfortunate icthyoid, you cautiously approached me and, following a hearty belch, said in a rather sonorous voice: "oh yah. that your deal? gimme" before making a sudden lunge for my right shoe.

I felt something then. I thought it was love, but it turned out to just be food poisoning.

...dude, I'm Gollum in this scenario? I'd have thought I'd rank hobbithood, at the very least.

Also, I seem to be Canadian. Damn. You've figured me out!

No, no, and again, no. I mean, I can see the parallels, don't get me wrong. But that's not what I meant at all. You're missing the underlying message. And so am I, in fact.

And you don't have to be Canadian to say "yah." You could be German. Or making fun of Germans. Or making fun of Canadians.

Damn it Holli. If there's anything I can say bad about you, it's that you lack vision. And not in a fun way where I could make you talk to a tree. In a way where you don't see the inherent message in depicting you rudely consuming fish upon our first meeting, and then having you make a hasty grab for my footwear.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother constructing elaborate, pointless scenarios like that. I guess we just can't HAVE nice things.

I found you on MySpace.com. You were never on, so I actually had to go through one of your friends who happened to be active. You have to go to great lengths when you can find someone of the female persuasion that's Whedon-crazy.

It was DC, I was wearing a leather kilt, you were shiny and fresh during our rooftop rendezvous.

The nice thing is the guy with the axe never showed up.

:D I'm a dork from F&M, and although really 'into' fanfiction, I have a deep love for the Marvel/D.C. worlds and appreciate your ... uh ... fan-ish-ness? F&M seems to be so anti-dork, it was nice to spot the kind of person who'd crochet (or knit? Crochet, I think ...) a little bag for their laptop.

We met, uh, in class.
