state of the me
May. 14th, 2005 05:35 pmSpent most of the day ferrying siblings to and from sporting events. Youngest sister won her field hockey game, lost the soccer game. Younger sister-- actually, I don't know if she won her soccer game. I should ask. I got a bit of a sunburn sitting out at the first soccer game, at which I accidentally got
paula_kelley a job as a math tutor. And possibly a job for me as an English tutor. Huh.
Tomorrow, I might go to a craft festival in Chantilly with my grandma, if the weather's nice.
I'm thinking about getting my own sewing machine, since my mom's is twelve years old and cranky, and often breaks. Does anyone on my flist who sews have a recommendation for what machines to look at? If I can get a sewing machine for substantially less tahn a spinning wheel, I might have to put the wheel on hold for a while.
liviapenn is the best ever. I'm a little unsettled by the fact that other people can write my porn better than me, but oh well-- her version is way, way better than mine would have been. Though that doesn't mean I won't write actual Booster/Beetle at *some* point. Maybe I should make it a Firefly crossover-- that seems to be the only kind of story I can make any headway on, lately.
Everyone should join
petronelle in speculating about Tamaranian customs.
I found an ancient child's sweater in the basement, falling apart, and salvaged three neat-looking leather butterfly appliqués from it. They'll look nice on a purse or a skirt. But now I really want to hit some thrift stores in search of more cool vintage stuff to incorporate into my sewing, and I miss the giant Salvation Army in Lancaster. That place was *huge*.
I need to either swap in some new icons, or pay for LJ again. Dilemma.
Also, augh. Parents. *slams head into wall, as it is less frustrating and likely to have more of an effect*
