new house! woo!
Sep. 5th, 2005 11:22 pmWe did a lot of moving-in today. like, a *lot*. I now have a bed! and a desk! and a dad who almost threw his back out assembling Ikea furniture! And three housemates, two of whom knit! And, between us all, two complete sets of Buffy DVDs.
Our house, for some reason, is being called Metropolis, because all our friends are dorks who name their residences things. But I want to make it clear that I VOTED FOR STAR CITY, Y'ALL. Or possibly Opal. Or, actually, Serenity would have been cool.
Tomorrow, I'm taking pictures. Even though we still need to paint really badly-- the walls are all scuffed-up and cruddy from the frat boys who used to live there, and my ceiling is inexplicably purple.
Gardeners on my flist: is there anything we can or should do this late in the year to make our rather scraggly yard look nicer? Or is too late for anything but preparation for next year?

Date: 2005-09-06 04:24 am (UTC)2. For making your yard look better: Basic things like edging the grass along the curb and along sidewalks always helps. So does laying down new dirt in any flower beds/bushy areas. Trimming bushes also helps.
Hope you're enjoying "Beautiful" College Park! You should get used to the faint pee smell soon.
