surfacing briefly
Oct. 17th, 2005 01:29 am...so, you know how you sometimes write a whole long entry, then accidently delete the whole thing? Yeah. Feels pretty dumb, huh?
For the record, I'm not dead, and am in fact on AIM quite often. So you know, feel free to say hi.
Well, I still remember most of it. Work continues to be very fun. One of my kids looks exactly like my mental image of Adam Young. Not that I think he's the Antichrist, because he's a really sweet kid, but just, if it turns out he *is*, I won't be *surprised*, is all.
I also spent most of the last week at work drawing pictures of kids as superheroes. I did one as a joke, and suddenly everyone had very specific costume requirements and wanted the power of super-deejaying, whatever that means. Actually that was only one kid, and I just put headphones on her utility belt and she was happy. Another boy wanted a purple-and-green costume and weather powers, which meant he ended up looking like a Flash villain, sort of.
I have a hideaous cold, which seems to have parked itself in the back of my throat. This was not helped by spending all of the party Saturday night out on the back porch, in the cold, with the smokers. Whoops. But at least I got to spend, like, two hours talking about comics.
Also, I now have a sewing machine. It's one of those older-than-time cast-iron behemoths that folds out of a table. It came with the original manual and a tin box of spare parts. It is *gorgeous* and I *love* it, though I am a little afraid of being electrocuted by its cloth-wrapped power cord. I will probably get a newer sewing machine from my grandma for my birthday, but that does not diminish my love of my beautiful antique.
I am extremely tempted to join
crossovers100, but will be strong. I've had a lot of weird plot bunnies lately-- the Ephram-and-Bright-get-superpowers story has been hovering around my head, murmuring in my ear, especially since I realized that I could put them on a super-team with Seth, Summer, Ryan, Veronica Mars, and Rory Gilmore. Unrelatedly, the past few days have seen me jonesing *bad* for some sort of Booster/Beetle bodyswitch story, which as far as I know does not exist anywhere, and if it does is not porn. But everyone seems to have been lured away by baseball or SGA of what have you, NOT THAT I MEAN ANYONE IN PARTICULAR, so I guess I'll just have to make biiiiiig sad eyes at the universe.

He could totally be the antichrist, as where else would he be but at a DC area private school? This makes so much sense to me.
