Batfic of TRAUMA

I just hurt *myself,* writing this. A drabble, starring Batman, Robin, and OW.



"They killed my dad," said Robin, eyes wide and bright behind the mask.

"I know," said Batman. "We're going to stop them. We're going to--"

"I'm gonna *kill* them," said Robin.

"You're *not*," said Batman. "Do you think your father would have wanted you to be a killer? Do you think *Nightwing* would?"

"Well, maybe we should *ask* them-- oh, no, wait, we *can't!* We can't ask them *anything,* ever again--" Robin's face twisted. Batman recognized the expression. "I know. I-- I *do.* I just..."

"I understand," said Batman. "We'll meet up with--" what's left of "--the Outsiders in a little while. And the Titans. Are you going to be all right with that?"

"Yeah," said Lian. "I think I will, Tim."



I will have lengthy updates on what the hell I've been doing for the last month. Soon. Possibly later today. Promise!

I have to admit, it took me a minute. (Batman = Tim; Robin = Lian, right? Meaning Arsenal was whacked?)

Yup. I have *no idea* where this came from-- I was thinking about Te's Angelsverse, and wondering who was already in the DCU young enough to be Robin when Tim got too old, and all I could think of was Lian and Red Tornado's daughter. And I was like, "well, Roy'd let Lian fight crime over his dead-- ooh."

One more thought -- I have this sudden urge to read Tim-as-Batman x-over fic with Buffy. In the vein of Tim-never-wanted-to-be-Batman; Buffy commiserates.
