I almost forgot: I went to the thrift store last night, and got some neat stuff. Some bowls, because we needed them, a pair of Smurfs glasses to replace the Great Mupppet Caper glass that broke, a copy of The Secret Garden, and a green apron with some really cool embroidery and pretty trim. I've got to own half a dozen cute, utterly useless aprons at the point, but I keep finding more, usually handmade, in pretty colors and with interesting details, and I buy them *every time*. I have no use for hostess aprons; I do not hostess and even if I did I would not wear aprons to do it. But I keep buying them, because they are too cute to leave in the store. The last one was yellow gingham and hand-embroidered-- how can I resist that?
I also got an *adorable* knee-length dark denim A-line skirt with orange piping and buttons and what may be the cutest pocket detail in the history of the world. But when I got it home it was too small-- I can just about wiggle into it, but I have to wear it way too high on my waist, so you can't see the adorable pocket detail. If anyone who's a size 6 or 8 wants a new skirt, just say so, because it should have a good home.
I think I'm having a run of good shopping karma. I went to Express to use a gift card, and they had a ton of jeans marked down to 19.99, and skirts for 9.99. And I was able to find a pair of 10 longs, which with my luck in jeans-buying is like finding a yeti.
