I LOVE SNOW
Feb. 12th, 2006 02:19 amI managed to drag
holdnothing out into the snow with me, because it is dense and fluffy and perfect snowball-packing consistency, and I put on my three pairs of pants and down coat that makes me look like the Michelin Man (stfu, all three pairs of pants serve a PURPOSE, and that purpose is WARMTH).
We walked down the block to the little park, first, while I pelted Meg with snowballs and she insisted she was a pacifist riiiight up until she started pelting back. And then we discovered that kiddie slides are ten times more fun in the snow, especially the corkscrew ones, and we decided to build a snowman. Which we did, and then we gave it boobs.
After that, we walked through the woods at the end of the street, which are beautiful and weird, with every branch outlined in white and the sky this eerie pale color, and the snow still falling through the lamplight from the houses. The median on University was this perfect expanse of white until we got, there, and started making snow angels, and then, as like a sign from God that he thinks snow is awesome too, there was think giant bolt of lightning and a long, rolling boom of thunder.
seriously! SNOW IS THE BEST.
eta: also, i had a snowball fight with the neighbors and two of the guys across the street made a snowball so big they couldn't even roll it to pick up more snow, it was so heavy. YAY SNOW. I think tomorrow we're going to go make scary Calvinesque snowmen in the median on University.
