Here's something neat: This website has an indexed and searchable list of the entire run of Calvin and Hobbes. The only trouble is, it's not done yet: the guy who runs it is apparently relying on us, the internets, to index the comics, and only about a third of them are done so far. So pop over and find a few un-indexed comics-- it's an oddly Zen activity, and I think I've improved my typing speed by doing this.
