holli: (still fighting it)

I'm almost done with the scarf I'm knitting. When I'm finished, I'll go back to spinning the last of the yarn I need for FBS #2. The first one turned out great, but I knitted in in cotton so I have to keep re-blocking it. This one is alpaca, wool and silk, from a roving I bought at the Sheep & Wool Festival last year, so it should hold its shape better.

Valentine's Day was uneventful-- one of the kids at work gave all of us working there a little dish of candies each, which was *adorable* of him. I had a babysitting job that night, most of which I spent watching the Olympics, oh my god, I want Johnny Weir to win a million medals just so he can get interviewed a lot and be unintentionally hilarious and adorable in his swan costume.

On a much, much more depressing note, I just watched Hotel Rwanda. TV needs to *stop making me cry*. Even though this was, in fact, a movie, and I just watched it *on* TV. But I *never* cry at TV, and I would say that this was just because this film is unbelievably moving, except that just yesterday I was getting sniffly at *skiing*. So I don't even know what's going on.

I bawled at Hotel Rwanda. Like, stayed in the theater until everyone was gone, drove home not talking, ended up on living room couch in the dark talking to my roommate (who saw it with me), still sniffling.

Then again, I do cry at movies.

The last movie I really bawled at was Serenity. For that, I spent the last 20 minutes of the movie crying, nonstop, and *kept* crying off and on until I'd been home for an hour. But that was *really* not usual for me-- before that, the only thing I'd even teared up at was Return of the King.
