Sometimes children are deeply bewildering creatures. Like when you spot a second-grader walking across the playground, carrying a lump of five-day-old dirty snow on a stick as though it were a Popsicle, and eating it.

I should not have to SAY "oh my god, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Put that down! That is disgusting! Would you eat FOOD that had been on the ground for five days, getting walked on? How is snow ANY DIFFERENT?"

This should be BASIC KNOWLEDGE, right? It's not just me?

One of the things I'm learning from working in childcare is, this must be what Rodney McKay feels like ALL THE TIME.

At least with kids, you have the possibility of guiding them down the path to Thinking Things Through. We're not allowed to do that with adults. However much they might need it.
