holli: (batman + puppy = AWESOME.)

So I just dyed a bit of yarn with Kool-Aid, to darn a hole in one of Shira's sweaters. This is easier than it sounds-- you just soak the yarn in water, drop it in the Kool-Aid with a glug of vinegar, and microwave for four minutes. And this particular yarn turned out this awesome, saturated cherry red, which made me want to dye the *rest* of the yarn that color and make something out of it. Except, of course, that I look *kind of ridiculous* in bright cherry red. This si the problem with me and knitting: the yarn I want to knit with does not tend to become the kind of knitted objects I can actually wear.

I have some really pretty dark winey red instead, and am working up a new shawl in that, but it's not the same, somehow.

In other news, I'm thinking the best way to get all y'all reading Young Avengers is to get as many people as possible to, you know, read the actual comic. To that end, here is the first issue. If you like it, email me at hollimichele at gmail dot com, and I'll get you numbers two through seven, plus the Special. And I'm working on dloading the more recent ones.

Also, and weirdly: I was babysitting Saturday night, for another Maret family, and apparently the husband's company is hiring interns or assistants or *something*; I was a little too much with the "wait wait wait you want to hire *me*? for a *job*?" to catch all the specifics, but, uh, AWESOME.

Oh, man, that's awesome of you, but I don't actually read any of those comics anymore. So I'd feel a bit silly putting up posters for stuff I'm actively avoiding, in the case of the DC stuff, and have never read for the rest of it. But thank you!

No problem! I think I was still thinking of your old DC icons ...

I'll put 'em up for grabs on b.org.
