Apr. 22nd, 2006 02:34 pmJust got back from yard-saling with Sonny, which was *good times*, because he does this much more often than me and knows where all the good stuff is. Although it turned out the *best* yard sale we went to was like, around the block from me, but still.
That first one was actually the only one at which I bought things, because they just had *so much* good stuff. Another Dover Coloring Book, some Life magazines from the '40's-- they had a whole box, and Sonny bought the rest. And the crowning glory was a suitcase FULL of old photos, like, literally HUNDREDS of snapshots, all of one family in the '40s and '50s. I *cannot* understand how the woman would want to get rid of them, but she sold the whole thing for $5. She also had a beautiful treadle-powered Singer sewing machine, but it was a) $80 and b) I have TWO SEWING MACHINES ALREADY, seriously. The photos are enough. I'm gonna get Shira to set up her scanner, because there are so many of them, and they are all stunning.
