Jun. 10th, 2006 05:46 pmWent to a *wonderful* church parking lot flea market today-- not only did I get things I adore, I saw a bunch more that I liked *almost* enough to buy.
What I did get: two yellow enameled flower pins, a daisy and a tulip. A bunch of knitting pattern booklets from the '40s. And, omg, this amaaaazing necklace, of little garnet beads in clusters that look like almost-ripe blackberries, alternating with fat white pearls. Which I have now restrung and given a clasp, so I can loop it twice around my neck if I want to.
And then we went to the Original Pancake House and got, good lord, SO MUCH FOOD. And *then* we went to Anthropologie, because they were having a sale, and I got a dress that cost entirely too much money, which was okay, because my grandma lives next door to the Anthropologie and came over to shop with us, so... I did not actually have to pay for the dress. Which, I mean. I feel slightly guilty, as I always seem to when people buy me nice things, but my grandma *really likes* to buy people things. So. New dress!
I think the party we were planning to have, which was going to consist of a water-ballon fight and a Slip-n-Slide in the back yard, is now going to have to have a Part II where we all go inside, dry off, and put on fancy clothes. Possibly there will be wine and cheese. Or, well, sparkling cider and cheese, because I have too many straight edge friends.
