I accidentally put a hand-knitted lace shawl in the wash, and now I have a hand-knitted lump of felt with holes in it.
*hates on everything*

If it's wool, you can try the Hair Conditioner Stretch Trick. (Wet it, put a large amount of conditioner in it, gently stretch it back into shape, allow to dry. Then I think you have to gently hand wash it to get the conditioner out.)

That won't work if it has felted, which is a knitter's nightmare (unless they do it on purpose). I feel for you holli. *shudders*

Ah! This is good information to have, as I've never actually used wool for anything.
Sadly, I know the trick from wool diaper covers (which start off felted, yet still manage to shrink when you least expect it).
