Okay, is it possible I'm just a big squooshy romantic sap? Because, for me, this episode was TOTALLY about the Big Doomed Love, and I honestly was rooting for those two crazy kids to work it out. Poor Ianto! It's not his fault his girlfriend's a murderous robot. And I think Sharon Valerii has taught us that he was not wrong to hope.

Ianto even looked to be getting somewhere with fixing Lisa, before, you know, the murderousness kicked in. It worries me more than a little that Jack wouldn't even *consider* the possibility that she could be saved.

...seriously, all about the Doomed Romance, over here. I was *thisclose* to citing Kon vs. Luthor Brainwashing as evidence that these things are not necessarily guaranteed to end badly, but then I remembered, oh right, *everything that's happened in comics since then*. Sigh.
