a short list of things that make me happy

holliThe world seem like an awfully nice place, when you consider the following things:
The 2006 midterm elections, which have installed a Speaker of the House who has more badassery in her little finger than Chuck Norris does in his entire body.
Polly & the Pirates, which will definitely be part of my little sister's Hanukah present. She's also getting "The Golden Compass." Any other suggestions for an 11-year-old?
My new dress, which-- well, crap, the ATL website doesn't have it any more, but it's a dark green corduroy shirtdress, and it is cute. Still need brown boots for it, though.

China's panda baby boom.
Top Ten: The Forty-Niners, which just took its place alongside Astro City and DC: The New Frontier on the list of Reasons Why I Still Love Comics.
