mememememe
Jan. 26th, 2003 03:50 pmThere's a newish meme going around in blogland: write down 100 true things about yourself. I'm gonna give it a shot; hopefully I'll finish by graduation.
1. The Buffy episode that got me hooked for good was "Becoming, Part II." I was twelve years old, watching TV in the family room, going "oh, the spell will work and she'll get him back. Or she'll have to kill him... HOLY CRAP, THEY'RE GOING TO DO BOTH!!" It was a bit of a revelation-- I wasn't used to TV that did that sort of thing. The rest, of course, is history.
2. I am a very good speller. I can spell every word I can define. However, I am a horrible typer, as anyone who has ever talked to me on AIM can attest to.
3. I bite my nails something fierce. It's a terrible habit and one I very badly need to break.
4. I have a small dark spot under the skin of my right pinky finger, from when I accidentally stabbed myself with a pencil in first grade. A little piece of graphite got stuck in there, and the skin healed over it.
5. I love snow more than any other kind of weather, but I hate the cold. Mostly, I like being indoors when it's snowing, watching the world turn white and silent. I don't like noisy weather.
6. I cannot watch horror movies. All other genres are fine by me; sci-fi and fantasy are of course my true loves, but I cannot watch horror for some reason. Especially overly-gory slasher flicks, but "Blair Witch" or "Psycho"-type movies mess my shit up too. And yet my Buffy is my all-time favorite TV show.
7. I am more than likely to become a Bitter Old Fic Queen before the age of twenty, assuming I ever write something longer than 1000 words. Lord knows I've given myself a head start: quite a few Buffistas self-identify as BOFQs, and I've learned most of what I know about fandom from the Buffistas. This has given me a somewhat rosier view than those who started at the Bronze, or on mailing lists, because I've been able to avoid a great deal of insano fannish behavior.
8. It's snowing very heavily right now.
9. I had one friend for most of the last half of seventh grade. She moved to Seattle two months before the end of the school year. I don't remember seventh grade very fondly.
10. I am addicted to Doritos.
