Babysitting tonight was mildly terrifying-- not because of the kid, who is an angel, but because the family has a giant and really, really protective Akita who Does Not Like Me. I totally love sitting for this family-- the parents are completely awesome, the kid is a sweetheart-- but seriously, that dog could totally kill me if it felt like it. Eep.

Story progress:

the SPN Five Things is at 1600 words and 2/5; I know what #3 will be but I'm stuck on the last two. Bleah.

The SPN FBI guy story is at 2000 words, still not sure how to connect everything but at least i have a few more pieces planned.

Also, I found an apparently-finished DCU toonverse story on my hard drive that I don't really remember writing, and don't seem to have posted anywhere. It's post-RotJ Harley, I don't really know if I like it, and I am totally mystified as to how it got there. Huh.

Am considering a WiP airing-out for a bunch of Firefly crossover bits I'm probably never going to finish.

The Diane Whipple dog murder case is in the news again out here in the Bay Area and I'm inclined to advise you to take bad vibes like that really seriously; talk to the parents. God forbid you should be bitten, or worse. Akitas do not have a good rep, not that I've known a one; only that they are one of The Scary Dangerous Dogs.

Oh, no, I just have big-dog phobia. The dog is gigantic, but he's also insanely well-trained. He's super-protective of the kid I was sitting, which is why I think he doesn't like me, but his obedience training was thorough enough that he never, ever leaves the part of the house he's told to stay in, unless told otherwise by one of the parents.

It's actually kind of adorable to see this wee little second-grade girl fawning all over a dog that look like he could eat her in two bites.
