true things
Feb. 7th, 2003 11:42 pm41. When I was five, I had a traumatic experience involving baking chocolate.
42. I'm actually reassured by slight turbulence on planes, because it makes it feel like we're just driving over a bumpy stretch of road, and not hovering thousands of feet above the earth.
43. I use far, far, far too many commas in my writing; semicolons are also abused.
44. As much as I complain about my high school, I know it could be a lot worse. I have middle school to thank for that sobering knowlege. Besides, I'd much rather be a geek at a high-achieving school where *everyone* is pressured to get good grades and high SATs and get into good colleges. It makes me stick out less.
45. I'm so fucking sick of angsty bad teen poetry. These people must be writing the badfic I giggle at in their spare time; if they're separate groups, I don't know if I could deal with a world full of that many bad writers.
46. I read slash fanfic, but only occasionally and only if I've been rec'd to it. I appreciate HoYay as much as the next girl, but I'd much rather read something A.J. Hall-ish (and THANK YOU, Fay, for introducing me to LOP) than pure smut.
47. I'm aware that my non-Net friends are scratching their heads right about now, but I'm okay with that.
48. I mostly only buy clothes in a few colors: black, gray, blue, brown/tan, white/cream, and red. Especially my winter wardrobe. I own no orange clothing, and one tank top each in green, purple, and pink. Nora thinks this makes me look put-together. I think it makes me look boring as hell.
49. I never wear makeup, but I'm tremendously excited by makeovers and will never turn down a chance to get one.
50. My bookshelves are organized by size and aesthetics, except for the top row of irregularly-shaped books that I've tried to alphabetize, with varying degrees of success.
