Dec. 2nd, 2013 09:52 amToday's prompt: The most hilarious and/or awesome vintage sale you ever went to.
About a month after I opened my space at the vintage shop, I went to an estate sale in Silver Spring. The Craigslist ad hadn't specifically mentioned clothes, but it did say vintage and it was a short drive, so I figured why not and headed over. I got there about an hour into the sale.
At a well-advertised sale, people would ordinarily be lined up outside the door before the sale opened, and snap up all the good stuff in the first half hour. This was not a well-advertised sale.
Every closet was packed, and there were three crammed wardrobes in the basement. There were clothes from the late 50s through the 70s, all of them beautiful, all in perfect condition. And they were a dollar apiece.
Well, I packed my car to the ceiling, and didn't even spend a hundred dollars. I don't think I'll ever go to another sale as good as that one.
