Okay, so, whew. I got home at 1-- and by the way, good job getting everyone their books in a timely fashion, Borders! I approve-- and just read through the fucking night. I was done reading by, hm, 6? Or maybe more like 7, I did reread the last hundred pages or so to make sense of them.
At any rate, I approve! And, more specifically,
--Luna Lovegood, how are you so awesome?
--I kind of love the intense Trio-ness of most of this book. Like, *so much book* was just Harry, Ron, and Hermione. There was so much other stuff going on, and so many other characters, but I kind of appreciate that we got so much time with just our three main characters, for the last book.
--Remus and Fleur's desparate small talk kind of killed me dead. Of course, it shortly did the same to Remus WHAT I SAID IT.
--I was a little bit "...hold up, *married*?" about the Remus/Tonks, but it kind of made sense that they would do it hastily, it being wartime, and start regretting it immediately. Rowling has totally crushed the hopes and dreams of *both* Remus/Sirius and Remus/Tonks shippers, though, which is actually pretty badass of her.
--YAY NEVILLE.
--JKR did a really good job of incorporating stuff from the previos six books, right back to the very start.
--I went in kind of assuming that one of the twins was going to bite it, and then George lost an ear and I assumed that meant they were safe, but no! Double fakeout!
--Snape and Lily being best friends is a lot less creepy than Snape nursing an unrequited crush for like thirty years.
--Still kind of creepy, though.
--Actually, wait, that also casts the whole "Snape's Worst Memory" thing in a new light, doesn't it? It's not just his worst memory because the Marauders humiliated him-- they probably did that all the time. It's his worst memory because that's when he drove Lily away. Aw.
--The body count was crazy high, though, wasn't it? Man, I totally have not processed like half of those deaths.
--Harry's total giddiness at Ron and Hermione destroying the cup was super cute. "Genius!" Oh Harry.
--Hermione: such a badass. From mind-whammying her own parents to her purse being bigger on the inside, she basically was so awesome I have no words.
--Ron: Also extremely badass, and I think his issues were understandable. Although possibly the middle of a war is not the best place to air them, dear?
--Aberforth: I am fond!
--The Wizarding World: Creepily willing to turn on a dime and start persecuting Muggleborns. I'm just sayin'. Harry should probably work on that.
--"Don't let it worry you. It's me. I'm extremely famous." Oh, *Ron*.
More at some point, when I have not completely fucked my sleep schedule! (seriously, I *just woke up*, god.)

I was a little fuzzy on how much time was passing in the book, but I was sort of thinking that Lupin and Tonks got married because she was knocked up.
