Huh. You know what just occurred to me? Harry didn't actually destroy any of the horcruxes himself, did he? Ron got the locket, Hermione the cup, Crabbe-- of all people-- the diadem, and Neville the snake. And Dumbledore got the ring in HBP.

Oh, wait-- the diary! All the way back in CoS. But really, that's-- well, clearly a deliberate choice on Rowling's part, and very interesting.

well, it seems like one of the whole gigantic points is that harry wins over all because he's got love and support from all these folks so i think it makes a ton of sense that they each got to do one thing- it doesnt elevate him above them. and stuff.
