holliI'm in Prague! We stayed an extra day in Beirut because the pilot was sick, but we got here last night and I have a bunch of time to myself. So far I've been to the Jewish quarter, where there are a bunch of synagogues that are now museums and a Jewish cemetary in the process of being restored. One of the shuls has the names of all the Czech Jews who died in the Holocaust written on the walls. The rest of it's bare; the niche where the Torah used to be is empty. I said a kaddish anyway-- it seemed appropriate.
On a less gloomy note, I bought a bunch of presents that I hope people will like, and about a zillion postcards. I've deicded to buy stuff I can put on the walls for my own suovenirs, this whole trip-- I'm accumulating apretty big pile.
Now, off to do other stuff. Possibly shopping will take place.
