tiptoes back into the internet

Yes, I have sort of fallen off the face of the earth lately. Uh. Sorry! I've been lurking, mostly. Oh, and I seem to be attending an anti-Scientology protest the day after tomorrow? I mean, the Internet's throwing a party, it seemed rude to say no.
Things I have been doing lately:
1) Daydreaming ridiculous drawerfic scenarios, like giant HP AUs where no one dies and really melodramatic Buffy futurefic.
2) Cementing my opinion that Ronon Dex is the only person on Atlantis with a brain in his head. Oh, Ronon. ILU. (Note: I also have shameful drawerfic wherein Ronon tries to wrap his brain around the fact that Earth has six billion people on it, and also dates Miko.)
3) Getting most of the kindergarteners and first-graders at work to believe that fairies exists and are leaving them presents. One whole corner of the front field is full of little fairy gardens that they built, with little tables covered in acorn-cap plates and houses of sticks and teepees covered in bark chips. It is UNBELIEVABLY CUTE. Today, the fairies left them Hershey's Kisses as a thank-you.
4) I spent most of last Saturday on the National Mall with a FREE HUGS sign and about 500 fliers on the dangers of Scientology. It was pretty awesome.
Things I am doing in the near future: attending my sister's bat mitzvah (she is 13 YEARS OLD OH MY GOD) and the Maryland Sheep & Wool festival. Which are, alas, the same weekend, but I can do MDSW on Sunday.
I seem to have lost weight since last year: I busted out the summer dresses, FINALLY, and a couple that I had to wiggle into last year no longer require wiggling. Also, I have been scoring like crazy at the thrift store. In the last two weeks, I got an amazing blue-and-white full-skirted cotton dress that buttons down the bodice, and a gray wool Banana Republic dress that does not seem to have been worn one bit. *And* some Terry Pratchett books I didn't have in paperback, so now I can lend Night Watch to people without risking the loss of my precious, precious signed hardcover. Also, reread The Colour of Magic for the first time in years, which was a very strange experience. Like reading fanfic, in a way.
