tiiiiiny Chekhov

holliI saw Star Trek, and I swear I have thoughts that aren't just me cooing at tiny Jewish Chekhov, but, uh, those thoughts will come later. Possibly after a second trip to the theater. I will say that I now want genfic where Scotty takes Chekhov drinking, assuming that as a Russian he can hold his liquor, and is dismayed to find that this is not the case.
I got a haircut today! I had not cut my hair in a year and a half, so it was stupidly long, and now it is about two inches shorter at the longest parts, ad also has some long bangs and layers, and it's a little angled at the front. I really like it, and a preliminary attempt at pin curls suggests it's going to look effing *amazing* in '40s and '50s styles. I wore my yellow shirtdress with little navy blue Keds and my hair all old-timey, and oh man, it was the time time-travel-friendliest outfit *ever*. I think I need to keep looking for little Keds and Ked-alikes at the thrift store-- I want white ones, and some more colors if I can find them. The navy pair cost about a dollar, so this will not constitute a major investment and will make many outfits cuter. I also got a couple pairs of interesting leather sandals at a rummage sale this weekend; I'm gonna try to get photos of some of this this tomorrow morning.
