eight quilts. eight.

seize and my friend Hilary, and found a bunch of good stuff-- I think tomorrow, if it's sunny and I can take good pictures, I'm going to do a big picspam of all the clothes I've gotten lately. Also stopped at a yard sale, at which I sort of, accidentally, bought eight quilts.
How does one accidentally buy eight quilts, you ask? Well, it was the end of the yard sale. They were packing up. But they had a bunch of really pretty antique quilts, and I really liked one in particular, a Dresden Plate pattern with yellow binding. But she wanted $60 for it. She did, however, have a big basket of-- she said-- cutter quilts, $5 apiece.
I am really, really not in the habit of spending $60 on any one *anything* at a yard sale, but I really liked the quilt. So I asked if she'd throw in a couple of the cutters. Sure, she said.seize deicided to get a table, too, and we chatted a little while she was looking at it. They were happy to see people our age taking an interest in antiques, they said.
We headed back to the car with my armful of quilts, promising to come back with a van for the table. Right as we got to the sidewalk, the lady yelled for me to wait-- and gave me the rest of the basket of cutter quilts.
The thing is, there's at least three that are still totally usable. Besides those, one needs a new binding. One has a big stain on a corner. One is, yes, pretty wrecked, but it's also an awesome dramatic crazy quilt with bright red embroidery on a black background.
I am... not really sure what I'm going to do with eight quilts. Possibly I will try to resell some of them? For the time being, though, I have many, many quilts.
Also: have not yet seen Torchweek, and we have been saving it up for an all-house marathon viewing. Spoil me at your peril.
