thrifting, again, some more
Aug. 6th, 2009 08:41 pmIt's been overcast, so no photos. Sigh. However, I can tell you that, this week, I've found:
- a sweet homemade '60s smock top with a tiny green floral print
- a vintage Betsy Johnson dress with the tags still on (too small, alas, and passed on to
paula_kelley)
- a slightly insane late-60s A-line dress with a mildly psychedelic print and lots of embroidered trim
- a simple cotton shirtwaist dress with narrow blue-and-white stripes (um, not the one I posted a picture of. A different one. A better one! I don't have a problem!)
- A nice plain gray linen spaghetti-strap dress
None of these, of course, were on the List. What list? The List of things I am supposed to be looking for while thrifting, of course! It's important to have a list, even if you almost always turn up things you weren't planning to get.
My current List consists of the following: black button-down shirt, full skirts with narrow waistbands (preferably solid colors, but simple prints OK), flat ankle-strap shoes, spectators, espadrilles, solid-color scoop-neck t-shirts, and a sun hat I can wear without feeling silly.
They'll all turn up eventually, I'm sure. And in the meantime, I have lots of other stuff to console me.
