I have fallen down the rabbit hole of historical fashion Tumblrs. So many pretties, so little time.

Some of my favorites, so far: what they wore, defunct fashion, Fuck Yeah Victorians and Fuck Yeah Regency, OMG that dress, ye olde fashion, old clothes, historical fashion. Oh, and draw this dress is delightful-- two artists are sharing their renderings of real vintage and historical clothes.

While I'm linkspamming, did you know Gail Simone has a Tumblr? Because Gail Simone has a Tumblr.

A Wrinkle in Time in 90 Seconds has been making the rounds. I found it really charming.

If you're not reading Ta-Nehisi Coates' Civil War blogging, you should be.

Can you point me to an example? I am curious as to what this does to shoulders.

I always have blamed Queen Victoria! The, possibly apocryphal, version I heard was that Queen Victoria had sloping shoulders that nothing could disguise, so a virtue was made of necessity and sloping shoulders became fashionable.
