five questions
Jun. 24th, 2011 12:03 pmSorry to disappear for so long: I have been Busy. Between interning at the vintage store, doing stuff for my books business (which may soon be expanding to an antique mall booth), and my Actual Job, I feel like I've been doing a ton of running around. But my job is over for the summer, and after this week I have a fairly light babysitting load. (This week I babysat 3 12-hour days in a row. Uh, if I try to do that again, STOP ME.) So hopefully I will be around a bit more.
I am having Discworld thoughts again. There's a novel in my head about Young Sam that I would really love to write, and I have a file full of bits and pieces for it that I have been adding to this week. It's about growing up, and the city changing, and what happens when someone you thought would always be there is about to be gone. If anyone would like to volunteer for hand-holding duty to get me through this project, I would certainly appreciate it.
cereta asked me five questions. Here they are, to the best of my ability:
1. If you could see one storyline of your choosing actually made into a comic/cartoon, what would it be?
Actually, this would require some rewriting of history. Back before Steph and Kon were resurrected, I had a whole story in my head for how they could come back. It involved Nyssa Raatko, a Lazarus Pit, several devil's bargains, and Steph and Kon running around in red-and-black costumes being mysterious at Tim. I'm pretty sure it ended in threesomes. It would be kind of redundant to write it now, but I still think it would have been a pretty cool story.
2. What is your favorite superhero costume?
Hm. I think the Blue Beetle suit is awfully well-designed, both in the Ted and Jaime iterations. (Dan's is a bit of a mess.) That, of Harley's toonverse costume-- it captures her personality just right. And I love how Darwyn Cooke draws Wonder Woman.
3. Leggings: stylish or wtf?
I... really wish people would wear pants. Or skirts! Skirts that cover your butt, preferably! Leggins do not read as Outside Garments to me, and I can never stop thinking "dude. I can see your underwear. THROUGH YOUR PANTS."
4. If you could blink and change your first name, and have everyone in the world know and use it, what would you choose?
In middle school, I briefly tried to get everyone to call me by my middle name, which is Michele. This was not a success. That said, my name is a pretty central part of my identity at this point, and I don't think I could cope with a new one.
5. Do you have a favorite piece of jewelry?
I do! It's a little Celtic knot on a silver chain, which I bought at the Renaissance Festival a few years ago, and wear frequently for non-costume purposes. I also have a ton of brooches that I wear frequently, especially in winter-- they look so nice pinned to a cardigan.
