So the one thing, as a con, that I think Dragoncon is really lacking in is fanzines. How do I change this? Are there people making and distributing zines at the con, and I just don't know about them? Is there anyone, anywhere, still making paper fanzines? How do I find these people? And if they don't exist anymore, how do I convince people to make zines again? Because I think it would be awesome to have a zine table at Dragoncon, and I would happily put a substantial number of hours into making that happen.

There are definitely still people making and selling zines. Probably the easiest way to connect with zine-based fandom online is to join zinelist on Yahoo Groups; it's a fairly active mailing list with a lot of publishers and zine fans taking part.

I'm trying to remember if anyone's talked about bringing zines to a con with pro guests in recent years - I think it used to be more common. It seems like mostly people bring them to things like Media West. But I'm sure there are at least some who'd be happy to have them at DragonCon if people were interested!

Maybe the first year I went to DragonCon, Agent With Style was there. I don't know -- I suspect the cost of a table in the vendor room might be pretty pricey.
