So Yuletide nominations are upon us! I'm not at all sure what I want this year, aside from continuing my futile quest to get someone-- anyone-- to write me Top Ten: The Forty-Niners fic.

In fact, consider this my yearly-or-so pimping post for Forty-Niners, as I suspect I'm overdue for one. Do you like superheroes? Do you like the 1940s? Do you like gorgeous art, and canonical queer characters, and WWII flying aces (some of whom are canonically queer), and robots, and Alan Moore at his most optimistic? Then Forty-Niners is the comic for you. I love it to pieces, and I always, always want it for Yuletide.

Is there a fandom-pimping post for Yuletide anywhere? I will happily make one, if not.

Also, mention the sky-witches! SKY WITCHES. I love what Moore did with history there.

Ugh, yes, Leni is amazing. Am I alone and crazy in this, or do you ship Leni/Frank a little?

Man, I loved the Top Ten comics. One of the few times I was like 'Alan Moore, I am your fan'. But jesus christ, that mini-series that wasn't written by him left such a bad taste in my mouth.

This post makes me want to reread and think about fic.
