1. Is LJ down for anyone else? I know they were doing maintenance last night, but the site still seems to be borked.

2. The change of seasons (I hope it's the change of seasons, anyway) is making me tiiiiiiired. It takes Herculean effort to get up in the mornings. I do not like it.

3. I've been catching up on Ta-Nehisi Coates' excellent blog. If you're not reading him-- well, why aren't you reading him?

4. I posted to the main Dragoncon Livejournal community asking if anyone thought a fanwork track was a good idea, and got three "that's a great idea!" comments and fourteen comments of people arguing about slash. Like, the *second comment* was someone saying they didn't want slash panels. WTF, fandom. I didn't even mention slash in the post!

5. I have been having miraculous luck at the thrift store. Like, legit vintage turning up every time I go, including a marvelously pintucked dress that fits perfectly. And lots of stuff to take to the vintage store, where I am now consigning.

6. I bought new jeans retail. They are a size 6. What is this I don't even.

7. I'm considering doing another story-a-week project like I did last year, possibly for NaNo. The only trouble is that my handful of unfinished stories are way more unfinished than last year's handful. But I really need some new stuff to send out.

8. Does anyone have much experience with e-publishing? I'm considering putting Defenders up on the Kindle store.

re #1: It loads very slowly for me, and sometimes I get a varnish error. So annoying.

LJ is very slow for me still, and I occasionally get errors.

I've had good luck publishing stuff on the Kindle Store: as far as I can remember it was very easy, due to the Kindle book creator actually *liking* the horrible clarty HTML Word creates when you tell it to output in HTML. It was certainly a hell of a lot less trouble than formatting the books to publish on Lulu.

I have not forgotten your message about DragonCon, btw. Just swamped.

Also, good lord, of course that thread immediately turned into "OMG SLASH." I hit the wall when we went to a Stargate slash panel a few years ago and got carded at the door.

It was bizarre. Then, after ten minutes, they started breaking out jokey sex toys, and we fled.
