Yuletide reveal!
Jan. 1st, 2012 09:53 amI wrote three stories this year, and I am frankly a little shocked that no one spotted them as mine. I thought I was being so obvious!
My assignment was the necessary things, a Peter Pan (2003) story about Wendy growing up. I wish this story could have had more Captain Hook in it, for my recipient's sake, but Wendy kind of took it over.
I also wrote big city days, a Top Ten: the Forty-Niners fic about Leni and Frank's relationship after the end of the book. I figured that no one was going to write any Top Ten fic this year unless I did it myself. So I did, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
Lastly, I wrote Go and Catch a Falling Star, a Lord Peter Wimsey/Doctor Who crossover. This had been percolating for a while, and Yuletide turned out to be the right incentive to write it properly. It was loads of fun to write, despite my nervousness about getting the voices right.
So that was my Yuletide! Between that and Brain Thief, I've finished about 45k of fanfiction this year, which is actually way better than average for me. Now I just need to polish up a bunch of stories that are sitting half-finished on my hard drive. There's some Steve/Peggy taunting me with its incompleteness that I am determined to do something about.

Date: 2012-01-01 04:22 pm (UTC)Considering the fandoms, I was expecting to get a decent response to the Wimsey fic, but I've gotten way more than that. All the comments have been lovely.
