holliSo, having seen Avengers, um, four times (DON'T JUDGE ME) I am starting to be able to pick it apart a little more. And one thing I realized was that the first interrogation scene with Natasha is basically Joss's favorite trope in the entire universe. It's the opening scene of Buffy, it's the entire *concept* of Buffy-- it's the woman who looks like she's about to be a victim, and who secretly had the power all along.
I don't *mind*, or anything, this mostly makes me want to pat Joss on the head and coo, because it's a pretty good trope and it is so obviously his favorite, and he makes good use of it again in the Loki interrogation. But he really does use it every time.
Unrelatedly, Steve's face when he finds the Hydra weapons makes me want to cry a little. And his "guys with none of that worth ten of you" line to Tony is so obviously about Bucky that, again, tears. STEVE BABY. I want him and Natasha to find the Winter Soldier so BAD.
