Monday I went to Antiques Row in Kensington to poke around. When I went into one of the shops, the owner (who knows me from numerous previous visits, and knows I have a shop) said "Oh! I've been saving some things for you." Now I have three 1950s square dancing outfits and three really fabulous dresses.

One of which, an adorable 1950s dirndl (made in West Germany!), I am now wearing. I have always wanted to own a dirndl, so this is a satisfactory outcome.

But I am a little worried that I have reached the point where people who own antique shops hold back things they think I'll like, confident that I will buy them.

Also I am going to look at a rack of 1950s dresses in Arlington on Monday. I am starting to worry about overbuying, but if the universe doesn't want me to buy clothes it should really stop putting so much amazing stuff in my path.

Hee. But you did buy them, so she was totally right to hold them for you!

How's the sales side going? Are you building up your regular clientele yourself?
