If nothing else, you may get the chance to learn how to say "She's not here right now, can you call back later?" in Bulgarian. (I had a roommate from Greece one year in college. That phrase was all the Greek I learned, though; had to deal with the random non-English-speaking relatives somehow...)

Ooh! Here's hoping it works out great for you! My freshman year roommate was from....New Jersey. And she was evil. Possibly, a demon. I was so jealous of the few friends I had who became best friends with their freshman roomies...
