Sep. 14th, 2003 12:55 pmDawn/Connor, part 1. Well, prologue, really.
Something In Common
"Dawn, what were you thinking?!"
Dawn looked up sharply at her sister. "Hey. Hey! How was I supposed to know? How were either of us supposed to know? I mean, that was the whole point."
A little of the anger drained from Buffy's voice. Only a little, though. "You could have told someone. Messing with magic on your own, like that-- no wonder it blew up in both your faces!"
"It did not! It did exactly what it was supposed to. And you can stop treating me like a kid, Buffy, I'm not, I'm in college and that's practically an adult--"
"Dawn, you can't tell me you got the results you wanted! I mean, everyone is freaking out, Angel won't even speak to me, Wes is a wreck, and Connor--"
"Don't." Dawn looked like she was going to cry. "I know what it did to him. But he wanted to know, Buffy, he asked me. He’s my friend. I had to help him. I didn’t know who he was!"
"But that's the whole problem, Dawnie." Buffy sat down next to her sister, and Dawn didn't flinch away when Buffy put an arm around her. "Neither did he."
